Government funding and tax free childcare schemes

Tax free childcare schemes

We are pleased to accept tax-free childcare as part or full payment of your childcare fees.

  • For working families, including the self-employed, in the UK
  • With children under 12 (or under 17 if disabled)
  • For every £8 you pay in, the government will add an extra £2, up to £2,000 per child per year

On registration of your child/children with the nursery, we would be grateful if you could notify us that you will be using tax-free childcare. This can be as full or part payment of your fees, for instance. Furthermore, you can find extra information about this scheme by following this link

The Government provides 15 hours a week of funding to all 3 – 4 year olds in England. This covers 38 weeks of the year. As a result, a child is automatically eligible for 15 hours of funded childcare from the term after his or her third birthday.

  • For families in England, receiving some forms of support
  • With 2-year-old children
  • 15 hours of free childcare or early education for 38 weeks
  • A total of 570 hours per year, that you can use flexibly with one or more childcare provider
  • In addition, some providers will allow you  to ‘stretch’ the hours over 52 weeks, using fewer hours per week

As a result, some children are entitled to claim an additional 15 hours of funding (total of 30 hours). However, this is dependent on parent circumstances. Furthermore, parents are able to check their eligibility and apply for the additional funding. They can do this by visiting the website

At Storybook Montessori, we are delighted to be part of this initiative. Most importantly, we can offer both 15 and 30 hours of funded childcare to parents of children aged three and above.

Finally, please contact us to discuss how this free allocation can be accommodated in Storybook Montessori nursery sessions.
