Storybook Nursery Gallery
Welcome to the Storybook nursery gallery. Everyday at Storybook, we take numerous photos on our iPads. Due to this, we are able to keep a constant record of what the children have been doing that day. This is all part of the unique Montessori Approach that we use at Storybook. Please get in contact with us if you would like to know more.
Snug Nursery Schools are delighted to be bring the the Montessori Approach to Ascot’s first Montessori nursery. In our experience, of owning and running nursery schools over the years, we have come to regard the Montessori Approach as an educational method that delivers outstanding benefits to young children.
The Montessori Approach is often referred to as being one that is holistic. It looks at the whole picture. For instance, from teaching to socialising and the environment to interaction. Due to this, these elements help to bring educational value and aid childhood development.
Dr Maria Montessori
Dr Maria Montessori began exploring her educational philosophy in the early years of the Twentieth Century. She opened her first school in Rome in 1906. At the Casa dei Bambini (Children’s House) she pioneered new teaching techniques and educational ideas. In short, these are now recognised as being way ahead of their time.
Through observations of children’s learning patterns, Dr Montessori developed the principles that would underpin the teaching philosophy that bears her name. Each child is an individual who marches to their own pace and learning should be fun.
