Government funding and tax free childcare schemes

Tax free childcare schemes

We are pleased to accept tax-free childcare as part or full payment of your childcare fees.

  • For working families, including the self-employed, in the UK
  • With children under 12 (or under 17 if disabled)
  • For every £8 you pay in, the government will add an extra £2, up to £2,000 per child per year

On registration of your child/children with the nursery, we would be grateful if you could notify us that you will be using tax-free childcare. This can be as full or part payment of your fees, for instance. Furthermore, you can find extra information about this scheme by following this link

The Government provides 15 hours a week of funding to all 3 – 4 year olds in England. This funding is applied over 38 weeks of the year. A child is automatically eligible for 15 hours of funded childcare from the term after his or her third birthday.

In addition, some families are entitled to claim an extra 15 hours of funding (total of 30 hours). However, this is dependent on parent circumstances. At Storybook Montessori, we are delighted to be able to accommodate both the 15 hours and 30 hours funding. If you would like to check your eligibility and apply for the additional funding, you can do this by visiting the website

Please contact us to discuss how this free allocation can be accommodated in our nursery sessions.

If you would like to apply for the funding, please complete the following form and return it to Storybook reception. This form needs to be completed during the term before you intend to claim funding.
