Our Story

Storybook Montessori, Ascot is a nursery rooted in care, community and a love of early years education. Nestled within the beautiful grounds of the Crown Estate, our setting offers a truly unique environment with views of Ascot Racecourse, where the horses pass by our gates on race days.

Our nursery and preschool are designed as a village of learning, with thoughtfully created spaces that inspire imagination and discovery. These include our Art Studio, Diner and Village Green, Town Hall, Library, Pre-School Chalet and, of course, our Outdoor Classroom.

Storybook Montessori Nursery and Preschool first opened its doors in 2015 as a privately owned, family-run nursery in Ascot. Founded by Mary Brosnan, a qualified Montessori teacher with a deep passion for early years education, Storybook was created to provide children with a joyful and inspiring start to their learning journey.

Today, Storybook Montessori, Ascot is proudly part of the Snug Nursery Schools group, strengthening our commitment to providing high-quality care within a wider community of trusted nurseries. 

Since opening, Storybook has grown into a trusted and nurturing environment where children and parents take their first steps towards school with confidence. We are proud to offer a caring community where every child is encouraged to learn at their own pace, supported by a dedicated team who truly love what they do.

Our Approach

At Storybook Montessori, Ascot, we combine Montessori teaching with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. This balanced approach places each child at the heart of their learning, allowing them to develop at their own pace through meaningful interactions with their environment, peers and teachers.

We believe children learn best through hands-on experiences, exploration and play. Our indoor and outdoor learning environments are carefully prepared to encourage curiosity, independence and confidence.
